Through our courses and projects…

We have supported over 2300 creative journeys

Employed 61 professional creative practitioners

Assisted by over 100 volunteers

And 25 Project Partners and Supporters

Across 25 different artforms

In 50 community venues across our courses and projects

We enable our participants to:

Access creative activities that improve mental health and well-being, increase resilience and coping mechanisms, and reduce the risk of developing more severe mental health conditions, so that they can live happier, healthier, and more productive lives.

Reduce social isolation to improve their sense of belonging, increase social skills and communication abilities, and promote physical and mental health, so that they feel less lonely, more supported, and are more likely to engage in healthy behaviours.

Increase educational achievement to open up more opportunities, improve employability skills, and enhance self-esteem and confidence, so that they can pursue careers that align with their passions and interests, navigate complex situations, and feel capable and empowered to achieve their goals.

Progress towards employment to improve financial stability and independence, enhance self-worth and satisfaction, and increase social connections and networks, so that they can better support themselves and their families, feel a sense of accomplishment, purpose and value within their community.

  • “The CCA approach seems to discourage maladaptive coping strategies and it is not an exaggeration to say that for the referred individuals, involvement with CCA has been crucial to their recoveries.”

    Cathy

  • “My success has earned me the respect of people who before only knew me as being ill and incapable. Thanks to Cambridge Community Arts, I have a new identity and a more positive confident outlook on life.”

    Carole

  • “The CCA approach empowers people who have previously found it difficult to engage in social activities and situations. The individuals we referred have really flourished, improving their confidence and going on to continue building on those gains even after their courses finish.”

  • “If I didn’t have my course to look forward to each week, I would have crumbled. I have been able to meet new friends, develop all sorts of skills and crucially, build up my confidence in a safe & supportive environment. The isolation that I had suffered for so many years eased away.”

    Paulette

  • “The inclusive nature of the courses make them appealing to all age groups and all levels of ability. If you have a dream but never thought you could do it, it's worth giving CCA a go!”

  • “CCA work in a non-judgemental manner and their courses support people to connect with others through art and music. For very socially disabled people, this has enabled them to express themselves without the need to verbally articulate. The courses have supported our clients to structure their time and given them a purpose.”

    Personality Disorder Community Service, CPFT

  • “This course was amazing and genuinely helped my mental wellbeing immeasurably. The tutor was supportive and inspiring. This course has inspired me to take it further possible as a career.”
